X-45® ITF Legal Rule 4: The Racquet
X-45® racquets meet and exceed all (ITF) International Tennis Federation tennis-rules:
Many tennis players have asked us, "This racquet is different from anything I have ever seen or played with before. Is it legal?” Well, it can give you so much of an advantage over your opponents that it should be illegal, but the X-45® G5 PRO Classic-Series of tennis racquets fully comply with ALL the rules for racquet design as defined in the ITF Rules of Tennis. The International Tennis Federation Technical Committee recently reviewed the X-45® PRO and agrees that "the X-45® PRO conformed to the Rules of Tennis" 1 and is legal for all tournament and sanctioned play, confirmation from Dr. Stuart Miller, International Tennis Federation, January 21st, 2004.
"ITF Rule 4. THE RACQUET"
a. The hitting surface of the racquet shall be flat and consist of a pattern of crossed strings connected to a frame and alternately interlaced or bonded where they cross; and the stringing pattern shall be generally uniform, and in particular not less dense in the center than in any other area. The racket shall be designed and strung such that the playing characteristics are identical on both faces. The strings shall be free of attached objects and protrusions other than those utilized solely and specifically to limit or prevent wear and tear or vibration, and which are reasonable in size and placement for such purposes.
All X-45® racquets are strung conventionally. While the head may be rotated at a 45 degree-angle, the actual head and string bed are the same, as you would find on your current racquet. Therefore our hitting surface area of the racquet is flat and our string pattern consists of crossed strings connected to our frame. Since it is strung in a conventional manner (and can be strung using regular stringing methods) all strings are alternately interlaced or bonded where they cross.
Our string pattern is perfectly uniform, and is not less dense in the center than any other area. As a matter of fact our new (16 x18) string patterns maximize the density of the strings at the Power-Active-Area®, which enhances the control, and playability of our frame. And yes, though our shape is different then the traditional racquet, all of our racquets are designed and strung such that all playing characteristic are identical on both faces. Finally, while players may choose to use legally approved devices, our strings are free of any attached objects. Our patented shape and shaft/handle design and our diamond shaped hitting area minimizes the normal wear and tear typically experienced by conventional design frames.
b. The frame of the racquet shall not exceed 29 inches (73.66cm) in overall length, including the handle. The frame of the racket shall not exceed 12½ inches (31.75cm) in overall width. The hitting surface shall not exceed 15½ inches (39.37cm) in overall length, and 11½ inches (29.21cm) in overall width.
The X-45 PRO® easily meet the overall racquet dimensions, like overall length including the handle, the frame overall width and the hitting surface overall length and width. The patented X-45® shape actually gives you a better and more realistic hitting performances with our 95 square inch head size then traditional in-line-symmetry racquets with 98/135 square inch heads. Our X-45® Power-Active-Area® design concept redefines the terminology "sweet spot" and makes our entire active-hitting-surface "sweet". The X-45® frames come in Classic and Evolution Series 27" length and in a 27.5" extended length for even more power.
c. The frame, including the handle, and the strings, shall be free of any device which makes it possible to change materially the shape of the racquet, or to change the weight distribution in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the racket which would alter the swing moment of inertia, or to deliberately change any physical property which may affect the performance of the racket during the playing of a point. No energy source that in any way changes or affects the playing characteristics of a racket may be built into or attached to a racket.
The X-45® PRO frame-handle-string system is totally free of attached objects and/or devices that produce any change in the distribution of weight in the longitudinal axis or that would alter the swing moment of inertia. Our patented shape gives the racquets their superior playability. The X-45® series frame-handle system does not in any manner deliberately change any physical property that would affect the performance of the racquet during the playing of point. The X-45® PRO will change the way YOU play and at the same time we improve substancially your overall Timing-Game performances, not the way the racquet plays. Many players have asked us, if we comply with all the rules, then how can we claim such improvements in performance over traditionally shaped racquets. Well, that is simple:
First, we move the left straight-shaft to the 6 o'clock position on the head, which is the center of the long head axis. We move the right straight-shaft to the 3 o'clock position, which is the center of the short head axis. Instead of using a circular or symmetrical head design we maintain the conventional elliptical head design. The placement of the shafts automatically rotate the head forward to a 45 degree-angle. This makes our string system perfectly aligned in which all X-45® PRO, three mayor axis joinig in the center of the string system, and all measurements from the center of the string bed to any two points in any place on the head-frame are identical. This is true for any angle from. This is contrary to all conventional racquets today without exception! This patented feature ensures that the playing characteristics are identical in all directions and on either face of the frame.
The X-45® Power-Active-Area® string bed plays with all strings synchronized at all times, and the strings are at angles from the right to left sides of the head. When you couple this with the offset head location, our longitudinal axis is asymmetrical which improves stability and control. Conventional tennis racquets all have the longitudinal axis as symmetrical. All of the typical and major concerns and problems with tennis racquets today come directly from this symmetrical longitudinal axis feature (in-line-symmetry-factors) and the fact that the playing characteristics of the frame change with the angle and position of the racquet head when the player strikes the ball. X-45's unique asymmetrical and aerodynamically shape guarantees perfect play at all times over the three dimensional axis.
